Battle For The Fastest Lap Times
Posted on 16 November 2016
Knock On Wood went to Global Time Attack on November 11, 2016 at Buttonwillow Raceway. We watched amazing racecar drivers trying to get the fastest lap times around the track. This motorsport event is not about racing from the grid and competing for first place. Instead, racers compete for the fastest lap times around the track. Some racers attend the event to compete against their own times instead of trying to get overall 1st place.
Checkout our racecar driver, Haoming Chang, driving his BMW M3. He competed in the Limited RWD class with the fastest lap time of 2:03.735. He wore our polarized Morning Wood
sunglasses to race at the track. According to Haoming, he preferred to wear our Knock On Wood sunglasses instead of his visor on his helmet. During a race, your heart rate increases and you tend to breathe heavier.
The downside of using his visor is that his heavy breathing could fog up the lens and block his vision. The use of our polarized shades helped him by allowing space for him to breath and avoid fogging up his lens. As a result, he could see clearer and not worry about his vision slowing him down. Just like many outdoor sports, sunglasses are important to protect your eyes and block glare from the sun.
to see what type of cars were at the event and their fastest lap times. There were so many beautifully tuned cars, we couldn't decide which was our favorite car.
Here is Knock On Wood's top 3 favorite pick from the event:
- Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo driven by Steven Aghakhani (Team Steven Racing)
- Subaru STI GD driven by Mark Jager (Team Jager Racing/ Yimi Sport)
- Honda Civic FD2 driven by Daijiro Yoshihara (Team Spoon Sports USA)
If you were at the event, which was your favorite car? Planning to go to a racetrack event in the near future? Please let us know and we hope that we can attend.
